Camp Twin Lakes is a nonprofit organization that offers year-round recreational, therapeutic, and educational programs for children and young adults facing serious illnesses and other life challenges. Spin for Kids is an annual fundraising bike ride that invites riders to raise money in support of Camp Twin Lakes. Spin for Kids also gives our Camp Partners a unique opportunity to raise funds to offset their camp fees to Camp Twin Lakes.
This year, Spin for Kids will take place during the weekend of October 20-21, 2010. Riders have the option of participating in the Mountain Bike Ride, the Road Bike ride, or both.
The Mountain Bike Ride will take place on Saturday, October 20, 2012 at Camp Twin Lakes- Will-A-Way at Fort Yargo State Park! Start from camp and choose the 8-mile, 12-mile or 20-mile loop and ride along the adventurous and beautiful trails of Fort Yargo State Park!
On Sunday, October 21, 2012, rides will begin and end at Camp Twin Lakes- Rutledge, located 50 miles east of Atlanta. The routes will take riders through rural Northeast Georgia and the historic towns of Madison and Rutledge. Five courses will allow riders of various skill levels, from the occasional rider to the experienced cyclist, to participate in this exciting event. This year, we will feature 5, 27, 47, 62, and 100-mile rides.
After Sunday’s ride, participants and their families are invited to enjoy a community day at Camp featuring lunch, camp activities, live music and fun for the entire family!
Day Camp option will be provided for children ages 3-12 to enjoy supervised camp activities while their parents ride or volunteer.
