The Atlanta Bicycle Coalition presents Bike to Work Week - a regional effort to encourage people to bike to work and other destinations throughout metro Atlanta.
National Bike to Work Week is May 11-15, with most communities recognizing Bike to Work Day on Thursday, May 14. Cyclists can pledge to bike to work at biketoworkatl.org to get discounts at local bike shops, be entered to win prizes, and find resources to help them bike with confidence.
Full Week of Activities:
| Sunday, May, 10 | Bike to Worship Day | congregations encouraged to bike to their place of worship |
| Monday, May 11 | Get Ready: Bike Shop Night | Discounts on commuter gear & tune-ups |
| Tuesday, May 12 | Get Your Bike Buddy Here | experienced cyclists matched with newcomers |
| Wednesday, May 13 | BikeFest in Woodruff Park (see info below) | |
| Thursday, May 14 | Bike to Work Day | |
| Friday | After-party | Celebrate Bike to Work Week at Park Tavern |
BikeFest is back for a second year in Woodruff Park on Wednesday, May 13 from 11 am to 2 pm. BikeFest is a FREE informational fair hosted by the Downtown Transportation Management Association (DTMA) featuring information on biking, free bike tune-ups, a bike fashion show, and a raffle to win a $300 gift certificate compliments of Intown Bicycles (along with other great prizes).
Partners include metro Atlanta Transportation Management Associations, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Clean Air Campaign, local bike shops, and bike clubs and advocacy groups from across the region.
As Atlanta’s largest member-based bicycle advocacy organization, the Atlanta Bicycle Coalition advocates better conditions for biking, provides Confident City Cycling classes that teach people to ride safely, offers programs to break down the barriers to cycling, educates drivers and cyclists on how to share the road, and strives to make Atlanta a bike-friendly, greener community.
